Here's a really uncommon and cool multi-functional piece! There aren't too many examples of these online but the ones I found call it a stand up desk, lectern, podium or reception desk. It is in really great condition. It would make an interesting entryway or a statement piece in a narrow hall. It also has a finished back.
The top flips up and opens to a large storage area with an 8" deep shelf at the back. There's 8" of height at the front of the lid. There is also a dovetailed drawer at the bottom for additional storage.
